Accident Scene Management
Accident scene management training is crucial for ensuring immediate and effective response in the event of any vehicle crash. This training equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide essential first aid, safely manage the scene, and assist emergency responders. By knowing how to properly handle an accident situation, trained individuals can help reduce the severity of injuries, prevent further harm, and potentially save lives. This training fosters a safer riding community by empowering more people to act confidently and competently in emergency situations.

No prior medical training is needed to take this course. The Accident Scene Management courses have been credited with reducing injuries and fatalities in many situations, not just motorcycle crashes! After training nearly 45,000 students, we have received numerous reports from people who have applied the information they learned in our courses to real-life situations where they could assist at the crash scene. Trained bystanders have become a bridge between the time of the incident and the arrival of trained professionals.

AMSAF is proud to partner with Accident Scene Management to expand our education on safety.
We work with Accident Scene Management and the community to help make Arizona safer. The above courses are used by Hospitals, Police, and many motorcycle organizations as continued education for hours needed, and we believe other organizations can take advantage of this by taking the classes. Our goal is to continue helping the community with their budget for safety-related programs through our numerous programs. Since starting this program, we have helped 433 individuals, and this program is continuing to grow. Scholarships were given in 8 Arizona counties; 60.3% were male, and 39.7% were female.
We offer financial assistance for two (2) courses:
A crash course for the Motorcyclist (Basic)
This is our most popular class. Learn what to do in the first 5-30 minutes after a crash until professional help arrives. Fully Instructor-Led (IL) by a certified ASM instructor, this 7-hour class (8 hours with lunch) teaches helmet removal, jaw thrust rescue breathing, moving the injured, controlling bleeding, and more. All skills are taught and practiced.
Advanced Bystander Assistance (Advanced)
Learn to be a leader at a scene and how to assist the EMS when they arrive. This 7-hour instructor-led class (8 hours with a lunch break) covers advanced airway management, common medical emergencies, helping the EMS with extrication, femoral traction, role-playing, and more.
Class Requirements
- The advanced class must obtained within 2 years of taking the basic class
- Certification for both classes is good for 2 years
- The minimum age requirement is 16 years
How the Process Works
- Fill out the AMSAF Accident Scene Management application
- School charges $150.00
- AMSAF pays $150.00 as part of the Scholarship Program.
- Pay the $50.00 donation scholarship fee as part of the application.
- All participants receive a complimentary Sport Trauma Kit from AMSAF as part of the Scholarship.
- Review the information in your Accident Scene Management payment receipt email and print a copy of the email receipt to present to the AMSAF ASM-approved instructor when you show up to register for your class. If any information needs to be corrected, contact the AMSAF support team at support-team@amsaf.org
- DO NOT delete your Accident Scene Management donation payment receipt email until you have completed the class.
- You have 60 days from the date on your Accident Scene Management donation receipt email to register and complete the class. Due to grant requirements, this AMSAF ASM code becomes void 60 days after the date on the email receipt unless the Executive Director of AMSAF approves an exception.
