Helmet Assistance

Wearing a proper motorcycle helmet is vital for rider safety, as it significantly reduces the risk of head injuries in the event of an accident. A high-quality, well-fitted helmet provides essential protection, absorbing impact and preventing severe trauma. By wearing a helmet, motorcyclists enhance their safety, comply with safety regulations, and contribute to a culture of responsible riding. Protecting your head is one of the simplest and most effective ways to ensure a safer ride.
AMSAF’s Mission is to promote motorcycle safety and awareness and help reduce crashes and fatalities in Arizona. To that end, we offer a motorcycle training financial assistance scholarship program in Arizona. This program allows individuals to get into motorcycle training at a reduced cost. In addition, we offer safety tips on our Facebook page, and now we would like to help the motorcycle community in another way financially.

Arizona is a state where you can choose whether or not to wear a helmet. AMSAF would like to help those who wear or will be wearing a helmet by creating a financial assistance program to help them get into a good modular or full-face DOT Helmet. In doing this program, AMSAF continues collaborating with other Helmet dealers to enhance and grow it.

These programs are only made possible through grants, sponsorships, donations, and our partners who want to help reduce crashes and fatalities in Arizona. TOGETHER, we can make a difference. We want to thank the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS) for their support in grants to help this program.

This program gives the individual a $225.00 credit through the grant program and a 25% off MSRP from the dealer. Along with an application, the individual makes a $100.00 nonprofit donation. Ultimately, individuals choose a helmet that will help protect them for about 50% off. The number one concern in our survey is affordability, and this program helps those families. Scholarships are given out in all 15 counties in Arizona, and about 75% are male and 25% are female.

Program Requirements

  • You must choose a helmet from one of the participating stores from our list on AMSAF.org/programs. The cost may vary depending on the helmet you choose.
  • The helmet must be $400.00 in value or more and have a full-face or module. Participating helmet dealers have agreed to give an additional 25% discount off the MSRP price of helmets.
  • Helmets are non-returnable unless the dealership notifies you of a different policy. If the helmet warning tag is cut off, the helmet becomes non-returnable.
  • Complete the program application
  • Make the $100.00 Arizona tax-deductible donation to AMSAF
  • While the three training programs are supported by state grants, organizational administration functions and supplies are paid for through donations.

HOW TO CALCULATE SAVINGS

  1. Helmet charge: $400.00 (varies by helmet you choose)
  2. Subtract store 25% original cost discount: $100.00 (varies by the original cost of helmet you choose)
  3. The helmet now costs $300.00 (in this example)
  4. AMSAF pays $225.00 (subtract from helmet cost)
  5. Actual helmet cost $75.00
  6. Remember your donation is tax-deductible and can be applied to your Arizona State annual tax filing for that year.

The Arizona Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Foundation (hereinafter “AMSAF” or “Sponsor”) will grant partial scholarships for a specified full face and modular DOT Helmet through specific dealerships selected.

All scholarship winners are required to follow all rules of Sponsor. Failure to follow any rule will result in the forfeiture of the assistance with no liability of any kind for AMSAF.
